This newly decorated square is one of the most photogenic we came across in Guangzhou, and it took even us by surprise. It is one of many squares being redecorated within the last years, to attract more visitors. And it does work! What a beautiful place Yantao Plaza is.
The endless Restaurants, Cafes and Bars on this square in Yuexiu district of Guangzhou, are full of people all ages, mostly after work or on the weekends. However the sheer amount of options makes sure, that you can always find a seat. If you are a traveler or digital nomad like us, you can also visit at daytime, when the square is almost empty (See daytime pictures). But this kind of area feels better at night, when there are many people outside to socialize and have fun.
Going out in Guangzhou is an experience that often takes place outside and Yantao Plaza is a prime example of that vibrant life. Whether you are looking to enjoy a quiet coffee in the morning or a lively evening with friends, going out in Guangzhou offers something for everyone in this beautifully redecorated square.
Due to the unique architecture which is stunningly lighted at night, you will also find lots of young people using the spot for their social media shots. The good things is that they fill the square and provide a good looking atmosphere while not filling the restaurants or bars.
