Xiao Lai Yuan (小荔园)
Xiao Lai Yuan is a local chain that serves excellent Cantonese cuisine. Not only do they serve excellent chicken according to my Wife, but also several great options for vegetarians. The athmosphere is not special for anyone who ever vistied a restaurant in a Chinese mall. There are definitely more spectacular options. However their decor is not ugly or disturbing. I would call it “normal”
So making it on a blog must have something to do with their food, which really tastes good and feels freshly cooked (not prepared industrial food). Their specialty is their roasted chicken, but it is a Cantonese restaurant, and you will find many dishes suitable for you. Especially as Cantonese kitchen is more on the light side of Chinese cuisine.
I always order Buddhas delight which is a mix of mushrooms and vegetables. They also have a very tasty sour “dressing” made with fresh spring onion, that goes on either changfen or various other vegetable dishes.
