Hong Yi Su Vegetarian Restaurant
Hong Yi Su which translates to “Red Art Vegetarian” advertises itself as South Eas Asian and Cantonese Vegetarian Restaurant, however we found that at leas 80% of the dishes are more Cantonese Cuisine. Which is not bad at all.
The restaurant itself is on the other side of the street from the mall at the metro station. There are plenty of other restaurants on this street in Liwan and most of them with this iconic red name plate above the door.
The decor looks cute and Hong Yi Su definitely have a love for detail. But it is a small room with open connection to street and kitchen, which gives this vegetarian restaurant in Guangzhou the street food vibe known to Liwan or Yuexiu district.
Food wise we were both surprised and left cold. Most dishes were good but nothing special. The Dumplings were surely handmade and the quality nice. What kept us speechless where the clementine buns. As soon as you opened them, you where hit with cloud of clementine smell. They were definitely made with fresh fruit. 100% a must order item in this vegetarian restaurant in Liwan Guangzhou.
