cantonese pastry

According to my Map and the created food Map below, they do have stores in all central districts. Check out the map below.

Luxi Peach Cake (泸溪河桃酥)

Luxi Peach Cake or Luxi Hetao is my personal favourite pastry store due to two of their treats. One being the “Red date & Walnut Pastry” and the second one their pineapple cake. You can see both of them on the right side of the second picture.

Some of these Cantonese pastries are not sold single but only in boxes of two or more.

Eat these Cantonese specialities as they can be very heavy and a bit on the dry side compared to what you would get at a bakery or cake store. They are more something you could enjoy at home or the hotel with a cup of tea or coffee. For that I love them.

The main reason I love them is that these Chinese pastries come with more interesting fillings as a normal bakery would offer. You heard the red fig and walnut, but there is also one with sweet green bean paste, which is something used a lot in Guangzhou. Nuts, dried fruits and salty egg yolk. Try something different, most of them do not taste overly crazy.
