Six-Sided Mountain (六片山)
Liu Pian Shan is not the most difficult hiking route. The hill itself has just a small routes from 3.5 to 4.6 km in lengths and 236 m elevation. However, there are other small mountains connected. In fact, it is a mountain range that ends with the famous Baiyun Mountain in the most southern part.

Liu Pian Shan is an ideal weekend spot as it offers a getaway with several activities and yet is still surprisingly less crowded. Main attraction is the lake which is open for swimming, there is one lifeguard nearby and you have to pay a few rmb for entrance. But as it is a wild lake, there are many ways to enter the lake that are free.

Apart from a beautiful lake, you can rest on a large greenspace right in front of lake and mountain. It is simply a grass area suitable for picnic frisbee or BBQ. But be aware that there are no clean toilets available and just one small shop that sells green bean soup and cold water.
It is the perfect triathlon training spot as the road leading to the mountain is a wide road with enough space for road bikes. In summer you can find me riding to Liu Pian Shan, swimming 30 minutes and then Trail running the 4 km. Slightly underfueled to avoid using the filthy toilets.
