Tianhe Stadium is located within the Tianhe Sports Center complex and thus can be reached by the metro station of line 1 with the same name.

Tianhe Stadium
This multipurpose stadium build in the middle of the Tianhe Sports Center hosts events, such as concerts and small and bigger sport events. Mainly athletic events but it used to be home to the cities Football club, before they went bankrupt.
Apart from the events, the main feature are the sport facilities and sport groups around it. The outer circle is a wide road, closed to cars and electronic bikes, making it a save heaven for runners. And if that’s not enough, part of the circle are running track as seen on the picture. Length of one round is a bit more than 800 meters, which are marked on the running track.
Throughout the day, but mainly in the evening, this place is the go-to meeting point for running groups. You will find amateur, semi-professional and professional runners making their rounds in training groups. Some of them flying by in incredible paces and other groups offering various workouts.
Running Groups in Guangzhou are very welcoming and some of them are free to join while others, more professional might come with a small fee. This will mostly result in having a coach that will lead the groups training.
