The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as the Chen Clan Academy, is a cultural treasure nestled in Guangzhou, China, built by the 72 Chen clans in 1894 during the Qing dynasty. Originally serving as a preparatory school for imperial examinations, it later became a practical school for clan members. Today, it houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum. This majestic complex, covering 13,200 square meters, comprises 19 buildings with nine halls and six courtyards, all interconnected in a symmetrical pattern. Filled with intricate wood carvings, stone sculptures, and pottery, the hall exemplifies traditional Chinese architecture and decorative styles.

Chen Clan Academy is listed as “Cultural Relics of National Importance under the Protection of the State.” You can visit the website Historical Pictures of China to see old pictures of the Chen Clan Academy.
