Desta is very easy to reach and just a 2 minutes walk from exit B of Xiaobei station (line 5). It can be reached by car as well, but be aware that the area is prone to heavy traffic in peak hours.

Desta Ethiopian Restaurant
When I read about this restaurant in an reddit comment I was immediately curious, as I had absolutely no clue what Ethiopian cuisine is. Next on we checked pictures on Meituan and it looked delicious as well as not far away. So there was no excuse not to try it.
I could say something like “We expected nothing and where surprised…” But to be fair, the pictures looked so good, that I at least did expect a lot. And boy, my expectations where more than met! A plate of sourdough flat bread with lots of different sauces or salads to dip in. What a dream to experience many different flavors in one plate. Some of the “toppings?” where ok, some where very good, none of them were bad. My personal favorite was the spinach sauce or curry. The spice level was definitely to handle and the beef stew probably the most spicy, yet no problem for anyone who can have a bit of spicy food.
Desta Ethiopian restaurant in Guangzhou as location itself has more of a bistro vibes though as it is directly next to a hotel lobby and also serves coffee and bread. The decoration is very beautiful though and there is nothing to complain about.
Disclaimer: I am German and we love sour food. So if you do not like sour food, the bread might be not for you.
