Seven Coloured Clouds Vegetarian Restaurant
This very hidden gem of a vegetarian restaurant in Guangzhou is located on one of the several islands south of Haizhu Island. The road it is located on, does not look like it can contain such a tasty restaurant. Nearby you will find car repair shops and other kinds of small vendors.
Entering the restaurant, you can feel that the motivation of this vegetarian restaurant comes from a Buddhistic site. While very clear and pleasantly decorated, it comes with a relaxing meditative vibe.
But more important seems to be the Chef as the food was very well prepared and you could taste the skill of the chef and well-chosen ingredients. It is always a good sign, when a dish made from just 2-3 ingredients blows you away. Their fried Doufu had the perfect degree of “burned” and their Baozi came with a fresh dough taste that we already forgot after eating so many convenience store Baozi.
All though it might take you some time to visit this place, if you want to know what to eat in Guangzhou, we definitely recommend to try the food. Taste wise it is my personal favourite from all we had so far.
