Beijing Road (北京路)
Beijing road pedestrian street is the heart of the historical old town of Guangzhou. It goes straight from the northern part to the southern part of the old city.
Beijing road itself is a classic pedestrian street with lots of restaurants, street food and brand stores. If you are new to China, Beijing road is a good place to explore local specialties, local brands and local souvenirs.
Apart from the pedestrian street itself, the whole area has lots of smaller alleys and large shopping malls. You can hide in a back alley and have a coffee in an ancient chinese garden or you can shop the newest Huawei tech in their Guangzhou head-store.
We recommend to try ginger milk pudding and a visit in the nearby Buddhist temple. However you can easily spend a whole day or two around Beijing road and if you not know about Ginger Milk pudding, check this out.
If you want to learn more about the whole area, click on the article about the Beijing Road Cultural Zone, which covers the whole area that is named after this historic pedestrian street in Guangzhou.
