Historical Sites
The whole area has been conserved and re-built with a lot of effort and is home to many historical sites of Cantonese heritage. You can walk through old streets and small alleys that are built hundreds or thousands of years ago while stumbling upon landmarks like the ancestral house of Bruce Lee and other small museums in typical old canton style brick houses. Below a picture with the main attractions of Yongqingfang in Liwan district.
Restaurants & Streetfood
As any area in Guangzhou you will find a decent sized mall near the metro station, that comes with the usual restaurants. However as this area includes a pedestrian street as well as several large squares, you can find the typical food vendors on their small cars as well as many snack and drink shops. It is impossible to not find something suitable to eat in this area. We recommend to try smaller and older stalls in the backalley. The rule is, if they look nondescript and still managed to stay in business in an area, that has surely high rent. Then they must be good and authentic.
